Jess Morgan is a songwriter’s songwriter. A cerebral storyteller - she takes her cue from roots music and contemporary americana but equally from upfront British voices like Billy Bragg and Jarvis Cocker. Her latest album is a tumbler of unfancied gutsy song, with heart, passion and great melodies. The album comes out with Drabant Music and Jess is currently the Norwegian label’s only British artist.

As well as crafting songs, Jess has also made a name for herself for her hands-on approach to producing music - gaining momentum through limited edition releases, short runs and most recently her own DIY vinyl records.

When it came for the Norwich-based singer-songwriter to start recording tracks on ‘Edison Gloriette’ Norway was calling. She wanted to record slowly and meaningfully following an energetic five years of touring and rapid releases. Two weeks in a quiet cabin, alongside a fjord on the outskirts of Bergen was just the right change of pace and the special landscape undoubtedly found its way into the recording.

The past 5 years have seen Jess cement her place in the burgeoning singer-songwriter scene throughout the UK and Europe. Her music has attracted the ears of BBC Radio 2, BBC 6 Music, Uncut, The Telegraph, The Guardian, R2 and Folk Radio UK, to name a few. This summer Jess will perform at a raft of UK festivals and will tour in Europe, Canada and the UK in autumn.
