Mentored by PM Training
It is with a passion for community sustainability and trying new things beyond her comfort zone, that Sarah launches into the Students for Social Impact program. She is honoured to have been chosen as a participant in this inaugural year. Pursuing a double degree in harp performance and biochemistry at the University of Ottawa in Canada, Sarah is approaching this social enterprise internship with an open mind and an eagerness to learn.
Sarah will be working with PM Training in Stoke-on-Trent, an education provider for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. With the current education system undergoing changes, she will assist the organization in redefining recruitment strategy in order to ensure a thriving business in the future.
In her spare time, Sarah enjoys just about anything that involves adventure and the great outdoors including hiking, camping, cycling and much more. Particularly when these activities involve spending time on home soil in Newfoundland, Canada. She also loves to travel and will be taking the opportunity this summer to explore the UK for her first time.
Sarah is excited to be involved in this program and looks forward to sharing her research and experiences.
Research Question
This summer, Sarah will:
- Analyze the effectiveness of the current recruitment strategy and research ways in which it can be modified to increase efficiency;
- And, review the Aspire Group work experience program, making recommendations for improving its integration and co-ordination.
