Mentored by Ice Cream Architecture (This for That)

Laurence is an Economics and Environment student at McGill University in Montreal, Canada. She is particularly interested in sustainability and alternative economic systems that create environmental and social value. Her passion for just and sustainable food systems has led to her participation in Oxfam International’s GROW campaign for a better global food system, and her current involvement with Meal Exchange, Canada’s national student food movement. Laurence is excited to combine her interests in sustainability and economics in her placement with This for That, a social enterprise based in Glasgow, Scotland. This for That is an online social exchange platform that supports the circular economy through a task and reward barter system. This up-and-coming community interest company answers a need to support communities, public bodies and private organisations to better interact and transact in a sustainable way. Laurence will be helping This for That assess and report their social value and social return on investment, to ensure that the sharing platform answers community needs and maximizes its social impact.
